Scoliosis Treatments

A curved spine will not straighten on its own. Slight curvatures that create little to no symptoms do not require treatment. Depending on the severity of the curve and the risk of it getting worse, scoliosis is treated by follow-up measurements to watch for progression, bracing, or in cases with a severe curve or risk of further progression, surgery. Surgery for scoliosis is to correct the curve and to also stabilize the spine to keep the curve from progressing further.
