Holidays and Back Pain

Holidays and Back Pain
December 2, 2014

December is the time of year for trips to visit family or guests to appear at your doorstep for a warm welcome into your home. This season, make sure you are ready for a visit and not down on your back instead. One of the best steps to avoid back or neck pain so that you can enjoy your time with family and friend is by allowing more than enough time for preparation. This is a very busy time of year but taking just a few minutes to jot down a time and date order of your plans may save you in the long run. In your planning, leave plenty of time for mishaps and don’t be afraid to rally up help for big tasks. If you are traveling, reserve an extra day before and after your travels for getting ready and then unpacking when all travel is done. Rushing to do everything in one fowl swoop and then returning in a frazzle to return to work or projects right away can cause undue physical and mental stress. For the little ones in your holiday plans, have a project on hand for their busy minds like decorating already made cookies with easy squeeze frosting or gather some felt, sequins, and school glue in a shoebox for ornament making.  At Atlantic Spine Center, we hope you are enjoying your wonderful visits with family and friends while you embrace this special time!
