Joshua Landa, MD, is a fellowship trained spine surgeon who was dual trained at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in both neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgery. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, one of the nation’s top residency programs, and attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania.

He is trained in all areas of spine surgery, and has extensive experience with minimally invasive as well as traditional open spine surgery. His main interests are in motion preservation and endoscopic technology. He treats various spine conditions, including degenerative diseases of the cervical and lumbar spine, tumors, fractures, infections, and deformities.

He graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University, where he was ranked first in his class. While a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He scored in the top 1% of all applicants on his medical boards. During his residency at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, he was chief resident in his last year. For over three years he served as the in-house physician for Madison Square Garden and had the opportunity to treat professional athletes and performers.

Dr. Landa is also a physician scientist who has published and presented extensively in orthopaedic and spine surgery. During college he was selected for an NIH grant to study central nervous system tumors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and he published findings that led to advancements in the treatment of brain and spinal cancer. He completed an additional year-long research fellowship in orthopaedic biomechanics at the Musculoskeletal Research Center at the Hospital for Joint Diseases and won an award for the best research project upon graduation.

He is a member of a number of professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons (AANS), and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS).
